MAKÜ 2024-2025 Academic Year Opening Took Place

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) opened the 2024-2025 academic year with an enthusiastic ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Burdur Members of Parliament Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz, İzzet Akbulut, Burdur Mayor Ali Orkun Ercengiz, Burdur Chief Public Prosecutor Osman Kara, President of the Justice Commission Musa Talih, Deputy Governor Faruk Ekiz, Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Kurt, protocol members, MAKÜ administration, academic and administrative staff, and students.

 

The ceremony began with Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar laying a wreath at the Atatürk Monument. The event continued with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a speech from Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar.

 

18th Anniversary and Achievements of MAKÜ

In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the university has turned 18 and has shown continuous development. He expressed that "Mehmet Akif Ersoy University is rapidly advancing to take its place among the top-tier universities by distinguishing itself among the newly established universities in Turkey. I thank everyone who contributed to this success."

 

“MAKÜ +” Program and Micro Credentials

Rector Dalgar stated that the university continuously renews itself and adapts to higher education trends. He emphasized that in today's world, where distance learning methods compatible with digital technologies are becoming widespread, the university must provide reasons for students to choose it. He also announced that with the new program named “MAKÜ +”, the university aims to provide students with micro credentials.

 

Rector Dalgar also touched on the importance of practical education, stating that MAKÜ is pioneering innovations in Turkey and aims to spread this model to all academic programs. Emphasizing the importance of individualized approaches in education, Dalgar stated that they aim to provide education suitable for the needs of the future by offering students a career roadmap.

 

Lifelong Learning and Alumni Support from MAKÜ

Highlighting the importance of digitalization, Rector Dalgar stated that MAKÜ continues to digitalize its education and management processes and adopts a hybrid education model that combines physical and digital elements. He also stated that they will offer lifelong learning opportunities to support the career development of alumni.

 

In his speech, Rector Dalgar emphasized that academic studies should be associated with social benefit and touched on the importance of digital transformation and mentoring systems. He stated that the university should act in accordance with strategic policy documents and increase social contribution.

 

365 Days of Sports

Finally, Rector Dalgar announced that the university's strong sports infrastructure will be available to students 365 days a year and emphasized the importance of directing students to art and sports activities.

Rector Dalgar concluded his speech by saying, "This university is a common value for everyone living in Burdur. It is our duty to support and be proud of this university together."

 

The ceremony ended with a cocktail in a conversational atmosphere with protocol members and participants.
